Our commercial appraisers have gained familiarity with a large variety of properties while working to become one of the region's most respected appraisal firms. Our team has appraised retail buildings (from convenience stores and gas bars all the way up to large malls with dozens of tenants and pad rentals), office properties for local businesses and investors from abroad, apartment buildings, condominium projects and subdivisions. We have conducted appraisals for estate and marital settlements and insurance claims. With years of experience and expertise gained through hard work coupled with thorough research, our commercial appraisal team has conducted market studies related to expropriation, public works and energy projects. As proud Maritime residents we have also been able to carve out a niche appraising and offering consulting services for coastal properties for estate settlements, conservation easements and investment projects. We are also experienced in providing appraisal and consulting services for all types of land, whether it has immediate or long-term development potential or will be used for recreational purposes.
Our residential appraisers have had opportunities to appraise a wide variety of residential properties. They offer expert service when appraising single family homes, townhouses, garden homes, condominium units and luxury/executive homes. They also appraise small apartment buildings and residential land. We also offer residential property appraisal and consulting services for estate and marital settlements. Our residential appraisers know the southern New Brunswick residential market and offer appraisal and consulting services in Saint John County, Kings County and Charlotte County including the Fundy Isles of Grand Manan, Campobello, Deer Island and Whitehead Island.

Our History
de Stecher Appraisals Ltd. is proud of its history of success and being among the largest appraisal firms in Atlantic Canada. The company is a direct successor of the firm Roy de Stecher and Associates Limited, formed by Mr. de Stecher in 1963. It was at this time that he undertook a reassessment of the City of Saint John and subsequently acted as appraiser and consultant for the City of Saint John during its pioneer East and North End Urban Renewal schemes.
Clifford W. Lawrence and David D. Babineau acquired the assets of de Stecher, Miller & Associates Limited in May 1985 from Claude W. Miller, AACI, and formed de Stecher, Miller & Associates (1985) Limited.
K. Christopher Lawton joined the company the following year and became a Director of the company in 1989 following attainment of the CRA designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Douglas G. Wort, AACI and the former staff of Brunswick Appraisals Ltd. joined the company in 1993 and Mr. Wort became a Director of the Company in 1995.
